about

a little note on me.

I live with my husband and our dog, somewhere between where we were supposed to settle down and wherever we end up next. I’ve spent years in travel software and have the work–life balance to prove it, which is part of why I’m here trying to remember what else I’m for. There were two Norwegian elkhounds at the center of my world; now there’s Sally, an adoptee who also lost her person, and more quiet than I know what to do with.

This is where the essays and short stories go when I don’t know where else to put them. You’ll find pieces about dogs, marriage, travel, the outdoors, work, and that uneasy space between “this looks fine” and “this can’t be it.” There’s no posting schedule, no personal brand strategy, just a person with a website and a stubborn habit of paying attention.

I technically exist on social media, but I’m rarely there. If I’m slow to answer a message, assume I’m outside or reading with the dog. If you really need me, hello@candacewoodbury.com usually works.
